'Cross the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard Where the booming heavens roar. You'll behold in breathless wonder. The God of Thunder, Mighty Thor!' - Intro to Marvel Super Heroes segments featuring Thor in 1960s.
Footage from Marvel Studios' upcoming Thor has hit the Internet in a posting from Entertainment Tonight.
As noted by MTV's Splash Page and Comic Book Resources, there's some interview material with Australian actor Chris Hemsworth talking about his role along with comments from co-star Natalie Portman and director Kenneth Branagh. And all that's okay. (Why do shows like ET think it's just dandy to send a guy who appears to know little about the comic character, who's been around 40 years? Also bet they don't know squat about Norse mythology at all). What really matters here are a couple of very short behind-the scenes shots in the first minute, a pre-teaser if you will.
First, there's a blink-and-you'll miss it look at Hemsworth in his Thor garb, which generally is modeled on Thor's outfit since his return a few years ago in a re-launch run by writer J. Michael Straczynski. But the other bits show him in regular guy wear (what's up with that). We also get a flash of Anthony Hopkins as one-eyed all-father of the gods, Odin. He traded that other for wisdom - wonder if they explain that?
The interviews took place in New Mexico, where the film is being shot - a location teased at the very end of Iron Man 2, after the credits. But as all Thor fans know, Asgard resurfaced not too long ago in Broxton, Oklahoma, not New Mexico. Until the home of the gods was destroyed in Marvels recent Siege event.
