Global Trek news is always full of surprises. This time, it's coming from Down Under.
Yahoo/Reuters reports the Jenolan Caves in Australia have added a self-guided audio tour in Klingon.
Of course, Trek fans know the caves inspired the USS Jenolan, a "Sydney Class" starship in the episode "Relics." In the late 23rd century, the ship was transporting "Scotty" Montgomery Scott of Star Trek the Original Series - to a retirement colony when the ship crashed in a Dyson sphere and Scotty kept himself alive by creating a transporter loop. He was rescued in the 24th century by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-D on Star Trek:The Next Generation.
Jenolan Caves guide Gordon Mills told Reuters Klingon linguists Michael Roney Jr and Tracy Canfield flew from the U.S. to Australia to record the audio tour for the Nettle Caves and the tour will be available to visitors as of August 22. The entire systems runs more than 25 miles with caves, underground rivers and passageways.
Not up on your Klingon to take the tour? There are books such as The Klingon Dictionary and Klingon for the Galactic Traveler to assist you. Need reading material on the flight to Australia? Try The Klingon Hamlet.
